Do I need to go to college?
I want to either teach yoga, become a personal trainer, or open up my own small business like a bookstore. I was wondering if I really need to be going to college for any of those things. I am currently in college now getting a degree, but I feel like I am just wasting time there. I’m not learning anything and it is all just busy work. I am perfectly capable of learning on my own and learned far more by reading and educating myself than I ever did sitting in class. It’s also costing a lot of money and for all this money I feel like I’m not getting anything out of it since I’m not learning. Is going to college really necessary for what I want to do with my life?
college is always good because frankly our society is superficial and gives a lot of importance to a piece of paper that indicates your education.. even if it has nothing to do with what you actually want to work at… on the other hand if you are extremely committed to something it may be better to just dedicate yourself 100% to the activity in question.. the essential factor in your case as in many others is to know exactly what you want to do and be sure thats going to be something you will be happy doing for the rest of your life…. sorry i didnt give you a straight up answer but when it comes to decisions of this sort there is not really a right or wrong answer it is always better to think things over thoroughly and consider every possibility… e.g A.S (associates degree which takes to years to get and can help out a lot if you want to be a Yoga Instructor or personal trainer…
