The Golden Rules Of Bikram Yoga
People of different demographic, be it young or old, thin or fat, short or tall, are grouped all together with an instructor that will guide the class for a period running for one hour and thirty minutes.
Of the many of types of yoga, the most well-known is the Hatha Yoga. This is the most popular simply for the reason that most people often associate this type with the general Yoga Practice. Also, hatha is one of the best types of yoga that provide the basics to the practice. It involves the basic yoga poses and movements, as well as the fundamental breathing techniques. The movements are slow paced and gentle, making this type really perfect for the beginners.
There is also the Kundalina Yoga which pays much emphasis on breathing techniques which are executed along with proper physical movements. It is this type actually which is more focused to the aim of freeing energy in the lower part of the body, allowing it to flow directly to the upper parts of the body. Of the types of yoga, kundalini is the one that considers the discovery and use of the effects of proper breathing on the poses as vital.
The start of the bikram Yoga Series is intended to scientifically stretch the ligaments, muscles and tendons. There are twenty- six asanas, varied positions of the body in relation to divinity, to be performed that will systematically stir the movement of oxygenated blood to the organs and fibers.
In such manner, functional systems will be restored to work healthily once again. When all of those are achieved, it is said that a great sense of wellness will instantly flow.
Brainchild
Aside from founding bikram yoga, Bikram Choudhury was the one who established an institution named as the Yoga College of India. He is a native of Calcutta, the district where Mother Teresa was based, in the year 1946.
At a tender age of four, he started to apply this ancient spiritual routine with the country’s notable culturist at that period, Bishu Ghosh who is the sibling of Paramahansa Yogananda, initiator of Self- Realization Fellowship based in Los Angeles.
Before Bikram Choudhury was able to come up with bikram yoga, he was constantly performing this primordial religious practice for a minimum of four to six hours in a daily basis at Ghosh’s College. When he was seventeen, Choudhury met an accident that inured his knee. Doctors predicted that he could never walk again but he remained optimistic amidst the diagnosis.
He went back to his alma mater to receive total remedy where six months after, he was completely healed. Today, he now travels all over the United States giving workshops in various academes.
Controversy
One of the biggest issues in the history of bikram yoga was the period when Bikram Choudhury aggressively asserted that the poses in Bikram’s Beginning Yoga Class were under his copyright. This made a lot of noise among Americans who have been observing the ancient spiritual routine.
There were also others who objected with the manner Choudhury dealt with his associates especially when he ventured into franchising studios. However, with all the statements thrown, his conception continues to find a niche in these contemporary times.
